This one pan pretzel crusted chicken is a tantalizing fusion of sweet and savory flavors that’s as simple to make as it is savor. This dish is SO easy to recreate and brings together juicy chicken and savory mustard with the sweetness of honey and the saltiness of the pretzel coating.

While this one pan honey mustard pretzel crusted chicken can be enjoyed year round as a crowd-pleaser, it undeniably shines brightest during the cozy, comforting embrace of fall.

This one pan chicken was inspired by my one pan caprese chicken on this site.

This recipe pairs nicely with broccoli which is the vegetable of my choice. It also tastes great with a starchy carbohydrate such as this cauliflower gnocchi which I air fried and got from Trader Joes. Feel free to serve with your favorite non-starchy vegetable and starchy carbohydrate for a balanced and filling meal.

    Ingredients

    • Chicken Breast
    • Broccoli
    • Avocado Oil
    • Salt
    • Pepper
    • Onion Powder
    • Garlic Powder
    • Ground Mustard
    • Stone Ground Mustard or Dijon Mustard
    • Pretzels, crushed
    • Honey

    See recipe card for quantities.

    Instructions

    1. Preheat your oven top 400 F and set your rack to the middle position.
    2. Add 2 Chicken Breast Slices to the center of a 9×13 ceramic baking dish. Then add in your vegetable of choice. I chose broccoli and used about 2 cups.
    3. Add your drizzle of avocado oil, and season with your salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and ground mustard. Toss until the seasonings are well combined.
    4. Add about 1 tablespoon of mustard to the top of each chicken breast and use a basting brush to evenly spread the mustard across the top surface of your chicken.
    5. Add about ¼ cup of crushed pretzels to the top of the mustard. Use a spoon to push down the pretzel coating an help it to stick.
    6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until your chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 F. Remove your pan from the oven and place on a temperature safe surface.
    7. Add a large drizzle of honey to the top of each chicken breast and serve with your favorite non-starchy vegetable and starchy carbohydrate for a balanced and filling meal.

Hint: Be careful not to remove your seasoning as you are spreading the mustard on your chicken with the basting brush.
